Criteria for determining disability: Unable to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest; unable to walk without the use of a brace, cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic device, etc.; restricted by lung disease; use of a portable oxygen needed; restricted by a cardiac condition; restricted by arthritic, neurological, orthopedic condition; requires the use of a wheelchair for mobility; lost, or the loss of the use of, a foot or leg; lost, or the loss of use of, an arm or a hand; a permanent impairment of both eyes; a permanent disability which is so severe that the person would endure a hardship or be subject to a risk of injury if privileges were denied.
Placard design: Removable placard issued in the form, size, and design determined by the Motor Vehicle Administration.
Parking space provisions: Complies with Maryland Accessibility Code.
Enforcement/Penalties: Any person in violation of any of the handicapped parking provisions - a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $500 and its registration may be revoked.
