Criteria for determining the disability: Unable to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest; unable to walk without the use of a brace, cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic device, etc.; restricted by lung disease; use of portable oxygen needed; restricted by a cardiac condition; restricted by arthritic, neurological, orthopedic condition; blind.
Placard design: Removable windshield placard issued by the Director of Revenue that conforms to the size, color, and content specifications as set forth in the federal regulations published by the Department of Transportation.
Parking space provisions: Each space will be marked with a sign bearing the International Symbol of Access and an appropriate wording indicating that the space is reserved for the handicapped, and "$50 to $300 fine".
Enforcement/Penalties: Any person that parks in the parking space designated for persons with disabilities when not entitled to it - an infraction punishable by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $300; Any person that is not handicapped who intentionally and falsely represents itself in order to get such a permit - a class A misdemeanor; Any chiropractor that falsely certifies for the disability that is outside of his or her scope - a class B misdemeanor.
