Vermont

  1. Criteria for determining the disability: Unable to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest; Unable to walk without the use of or assistance from a brace, cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic device, wheelchair, or other assistive device; restricted by lung disease; restricted by a cardiac condition; restricted by an arthritic, neurological, or orthopedic condition; blind.

  2. Placard design: A removable two-sided, hanger style windshield placard bearing the International Symbol of Access, which is at least three inches in height, is white on a blue shield, an identification number, a date of expiration and the seal or other identification of the issuing authority.

  3. Parking space provisions: None given.

  4. Enforcement/Penalties: Any person violating the handicapped parking ordinance - a fine of not more than $25 for each offense.
